About me

I’m Hannah and I live in Sheffield with my husband and two daughters, Amelie (4 years old) and Matilda (18 months old). For the last 10 years, I taught secondary school Geography - a career I really loved. However, after the birth of our second daughter, we spent months with a very unsettled baby who didn’t sleep very well and cried a lot – everyone reassured me it was normal but I knew in my gut something wasn’t right. After searching high and low for support (osteopaths, tongue tie practitioners, lactation consultants and sleep consultants), we eventually got to the bottom of things and now have a much more settled and contented little one. In the process, I realised I wanted to work alongside families with younger children, supporting them in the early years of parenting through the tougher days and weeks. I have a real passion for supporting families with the practical side of parenting (like getting some more sleep!) but also the emotional bits - I volunteer with a fantastic charity called PANDAS which supports parents with their mental health in the perinatal period.

When I’m not supporting families with sleep, you can find me in some of the lovely coffee shops in Sheffield, chasing my girls around our local park or photographing the sky (hence the name dusk to dawn!).

One of the things I love about seeing a sunset or a sunrise is that it reminds me that at the end of every day, no matter how good or bad the day was, the setting sun at dusk makes way for a new day. And the rising sun at dawn is a symbol for new hope and endless possibilities. However bad a previous day of broken naps, or mental health struggles, however bad your night was with multiple wakes from your little one or anxious thoughts for you, there is hope in the dawn of a new day.
